Gross misrepresentation

We made our reservation here based on Internet information. The information stated that this motel had been renovated in 2007. The outside and maybe some of the rooms had been redone and the lobby was under renovation when we walked in. The girl at the desk was going to put us into one room in the back but the manager wanted us put into a room in the front. He showed me one room, but put us into another room which REEKED of cigarette smoke. We had specified a non-smoking room when the reservation was made. The room he showed me did not smell of smoke but had definitely not been renovated. The walls had lots of scuff marks on them and possibly some dirty spots but the beds were made and the covers looked clean. There was a slight odor even in this room. When we complained, the desk clerk put us into the room in back which she recommended. This room was better but not much. There was an odor in the room which bothered my sister. There were cigarette burns on the bathroom sink. We had checked in but drove around looking for a better place. We were not told we had only 30 minutes to change our mind about the rooms without being billed. All we did was walk into the rooms and walk out. We did not even take our luggage in. The rates on the Internet stated that a senior rate, non-smoking room with 2 double beds was $39.00 per night. When we checked in, my sister was told that this was the rate for 1 double bed. We were to be charged $55.00 per night. This facility was very much misrepresented on the Internet. We did not stay in this motel and would not recommend it to anyone.
